FIELD MEDICINE and FIRST AID!!

Location: WEMA Training Center
          110 Oak St
          Lebanon, TN
DATE/TIME: May 9 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm (longer meeting due to content)

This will be an informative and potentially lifesaving training, so I want to see you all there! To be active w/WC DART, we require a minimum of quarterly training and event attendance. AND we will be pairing off for the skills practice, so we need everyone there. Don’t miss this! God forbid, you may need it someday!

Respond on this site if you want to join us and learn more about what we do!

Hello,Could you please send more information about your organization and membership requirements? Thank you.Shaley Fawcett

    • Hello, Shaley. I’m sorry if I missed your message. I apologize for the late reply, we have occasional issues with this site but I’d love to answer your questions.
We are a volunteer/donation driven disaster response group that works with all animals, pet owners and our local Emergency Management Agency here in Wilson County, TN. We remove the animals from their bad situation, provide temporary shelter (usually at an off-site location), provide vet care/nutrition or whatever is needed until they can be rehomed or reunited with their owners. _Our only requirement to join the team is a love of animals. If you want to become a certified WC DART member, you will have to complete FEMA courses attend a minimum of 3 trainings per year and 2 fund raisers. You would be better prepared to respond in a disaster situation if you attend as many trainings as possible, which of course is preferred. Once certified, you are able to assist w/other groups through WC DART.
We have some physical aspects involved in our disaster response but if you’re not able to meet that demand, there are plenty of other ways to help, so don’t let that deter you.
We also partner w/disaster response groups for people and have a Community Emergency Response Training coming up this weekend, so please let me know if you are interested in attending and we’ll get you in.
      Thank you for your interest!
