The Wilson County Disaster Animal Response Team, never “self-deploys”. The Team must be requested by the Local Emergency Management Agency or Law Enforcement Agency, affected by the disaster. The requesting EMA or Law Enforcement Agency should call the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency to request the Wilson County Disaster Animal Response Team for Disaster Response Assistance for Animals.
The Disaster Animal Response Team assists local agencies with setting up Sheltering Operations for animals in disaster situations,temporarily, under a Memorandum of Understanding or a Mutual Aid Agreement in accordance with the Incident Command System, from the Emergency Management Agency’s Planning Director.
The Social Media Pages are not monitored 24 hours a day, just checked periodically. The Team is an “all volunteer” Team, credentialed by the State-of TN.
