When disaster strikes, preparation becomes action. WCDART volunteers deploy throughout Wilson County and beyond to help animals affected by emergencies and disasters. From rescue and evacuation to sheltering and recovery, these moments reflect our mission where it matters most: in the field, when animals and their communities need us.

Ongoing training ensures our volunteers are ready when disaster strikes. From K-9 skills to emergency response, we train to serve better.

Our K-9 teams train regularly to maintain the skills needed for real-world deployments. Through obedience, scent work, and search scenarios, our dogs and handlers build the trust and teamwork that saves lives.

COMMUNITY
Being ready to respond starts with being connected to the community we serve. From dog washes and local events to outreach, education, and fundraising, these moments bring WCDART together with the people and animals of Wilson County. Every conversation, muddy paw, and shared experience helps build stronger relationships before an emergency ever happens.
DOG WASH FUNDRAISERS
A little soap, a lot of wagging tails, and a community that shows up for WCDART. Our dog wash fundraisers have brought neighbors and their four-legged family members together while helping raise funds to support training, equipment, supplies, and disaster response. We’re grateful for every dirty dog, generous donation, and helping hand that has supported our mission over the years.

Santa isn’t just for the kids. Over the years, WCDART’s Pictures with Santa events have brought families, pets, and plenty of holiday spirit together for a little Christmas fun while supporting our mission. From perfectly posed pups to pets who weren’t quite sure about the man in the red suit, these photos capture some of our favorite holiday memories with the Wilson County community.
